I love Mythology, always have, can't remember when I didn't. My name is Mariah Matthews. I live in the USA, and this blog is about a novel that I'm currently writing, working title: : MYTHS OF HELICON MOUNTAIN.

From ATALANTA AND THE GOLDEN APPLES, PART III OF MYTHS of HELICON MOUNTAIN .

Oleia waited on her mother’s piazza for his (her father's) return and although she knew he’d said it to provoke her mother, his remark about Pholus’s son stirred her imagination. Near sunrise, she fell asleep and dreamed that she stood by a river. Teleon’s haughty, puffed-up daughter Hestia stood beside her, and Old Nona was there too, about to announce the name of the next queen of Mount Helicon. Oleia’s heart pounded! An awful dread beset her as she waited for the fateful words. Suddenly – in the dream and out of nowhere – a huge wave of water washed over her, drenching her, blinding her, and when she cleared her eyes, Old Nona and Hestia were gone.
