ON WRITING MYTHS: A bit of presaging in a novel makes a chapter more interesting. In Chapter 6, the first sign of the Gigantomacy (War of the Giants) raises its ugly head. Up to this time, the Titan Athena has been the supreme leader of the Taurians in Thessaly. Now Hera comes forth to claim that right, and the Giants (Human offspring of the Titans) take sides. How does this play out on Mount Helicon? Echo wants to sing her mountain songs; Narcissus wants to play his flute—two young innocents in a teeming new world. Who is going to save them?

PROGRESS IS GOOD!
Progress Report: The final version of Chapter 6 falls into place. Originally, I had nine chapters written for
Echo & Narcissus; I think I’ll finish in eight. I need to get Narcissus down to Clear Blue Lake. He dies in Chapter 7 and there is no need to go on much after
that. Echo becomes an echo and Urana despises
Hera! So ends Part One of MYTHS OF HELICON
MOUNTAIN. J
